alrajhi bank monitors account activity and applies dormancy procedures when accounts remain inactive for extended periods.
Following are the key points regarding inactive and dormant accounts and how customers can manage their funds.
- An active account will be reclassified as inactive (frozen) if no withdrawal or deposit transactions are conducted for 180 days from the date of the last transaction.
- If an account remains frozen for 6 months or one year, and the account balance is KWD (0) with no related transactions (including investment deposits, safe deposit boxes, or any other transactions), the Bank reserves the right to close the account without prior notice to the customer.
- If the account remains inactive (frozen) for five years from the date of the last transaction, the Bank reserves the right to close the account without prior notice to the customer and transfer the remaining balance to a suspense account maintained by the Bank.
- Balances of closed frozen accounts shall be retained in the Bank’s suspense account. The customer retains the right to claim the account balance without any accrued returns, by visiting any of the Bank’s branches.
